The Woman in Green
Movie Review

"Scotland Yard is baffled, as usual, and Sherlock Holmes is his customarily perceptive self in "The Woman in Green,"  The Yard operatives are nettled by a seemingly unsolvable wave of murders. All the victims are attractive girls, and when found each is minus her right forefinger."  "Needless to say, Mr. Holmes senses the fiendish hand of his old enemy Professor Moriarity and immediately sets about arranging another of his elaborate and devilishly clever traps, not precisely of the Conan Doyle variety. A Hollywood script writer named Bertram Millhauser takes full responsibility for what transpires on the screen" "...and it's just as well, for Sir Arthur never perpetrated a disappointment such as "The Woman in Green." Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as Holmes and Watson; Henry Daniell as Moriarity and Matthew Boulton as the Inspector play their respective roles in a manner now best described as familiar."
